About

“Hope Church Cardiff is committed to seeking the presence of God and to worshiping Jesus with passion. We believe in personal transformation through the power of the Word and the Holy Spirit, and the transformation of Cardiff, Wales and the nations for His glory. Pressing in for more of God in order to see people saved, healed and set free is a priority for us.  Our worship is strong, passionate and creative; while our preaching is dynamic, relevant and biblical. We are a family who enjoy true community and friendship - for us, church is really good because God is really good!”  David

Our Story so far…

A Newfrontiers church plant was started in Cardiff in November 2002 when about 10 people gathered in a small room at the Sandringham Hotel in the city centre. For the next two years the group slowly grew, meeting in Roath in the home of Morgan and Belinda Hopkins. This was a time of establishing close friendship and putting in place some foundational values : knowing together the love of and for Jesus, the primacy of God’s word, worship in the Holy Spirit, & building community together in an atmosphere of love and trust.

In September 2005, when the group was about 20 strong, David and Hazel Pike moved from Suffolk to lead the plant. The church took on the name Hope Church, Cardiff and began gathering in weekly public meetings. In January 2006 it started meeting at Allensbank Primary School in the Heath district of the city.

Since then the church has slowly grown to about 50 strong, and is looking to expand into a bigger more central venue nearer the city centre. There is a great sense of excitement and expectancy as we gather together in the presence of God, and a strong desire to express the love of God in the city, in Wales and in the nations.
